Shocked at the Jewish persecutions in Germany, Mr Hudson Lewis, aged 31, and his pretty New Zealand-born wife, Sonja, aged 26, committed suicide to-day by inhaling gas. Both of them are of German-Jewish parentage and were plunged in melancholy since they learned that Mrs Lewis’s grandmother had dropped dead during a Nazi raid on a Berlin home for the aged.
