CHILDREN’S HEALTH CAMP

TO BE HELD AT RICHMOND SHOWGROUNDS 50 CHILDREN TO ATTEND It has been decided by the Nelson ; Children’s Health Camp Site Committee to alter the arrangements whereby it j was proposed to hold this summer’s ! camp at Wakefield, and apply to the A. and P. Association for the use of the [show grounds and buildings at Richmond. This has been granted by the A. and P. Association and approved by the Health Department. The committee is gratified in securing these grounds, are they are eminently suitable for the purpose, there being plenty of playing area and sheli ter. Arrangements will be made for ! taking the children to the beach at Tahuna as much as possible, so that i they will not be deprived of sea bath--1 ing. ! As the park is required for races at I the end of January, and will have to be 1 vacated in time for preparation for : these, the camp will be open earlier j than usual, and will be held approxi- i ! mately from 28th December to 27th ; January. Fifty children will be taken j into camp, chosen from the whole of j the Nelson Education Board area, and i I will include 15 from the Westport dis-J I trict. - The people of Richmond and suri rounding district have shown pleasure that their townshpi has been chosen this year for the camp, and by their! enthusiasm the committee is expecting practical support in many directions. ■ In this issue the committee invites ap- 1 plications from various persons for staffing the camp.
