FURTHER RESTRICTED DECREES RELEGATED TO PRESCRIBED AREA RACIAL SYMBOL TO BE WORN ID.P.A.—By Electric Telegraph—Copyright] (Received 6th December, 9.50 a.m.) BERLIN, sth December. The recent decrees are the forerunner of similar ones to be introduced throughout Germany. They will relegate Jews in Berlin to a more oppressive ghetto than that of the Middle Ages Whereas they then enjoyed freedom of movement except for the curfew they are now permanently restricted to a limited quarter. They must not enter the section of the Wilhelmstrasse containing Government offices, nor the Vonstrasse or Unter Den Linden. The ban is being extended to include most Berlin Jews living outside the ghetto who have been officially advised to move to the prescribed area in which Berlin’s most dismal streets are to be found. An order is being issued re-, quiring Jews to wear prominently a j yellow rosette as a racial symbol. Latest decrees eliminate Jews from ! ownership of property, agricultural and j forest lands, which will be summarily sold. Jews are also excluded from the acquisition of property rights, must place their securities in special safes at ! the banks, and must not acquire gold or j jewellery; but the process of dispos- j session in order to avoid disorganisa- ' tion will extend over several months, j ORDINARY LIVING FACILITIES DENIED (Received 6th December, 10.0 a.m.) BERLIN. sth December. Jews, who will be forced to live in a j number of ghetto districts in the various cities, will be deprived of ordinary living facilities. In addition to telephones and radios they may be deprived of electricity and individual mail service.
