RAILCAR'S DEMONSTRATION RUN

PRACTICALLY FREE FROM VIBRATION i United Pres* Assoeialmni AUCKLAND, sth December. Attaining a speed of more than 60 miles an hour on sections of the 40-mile route, the railcar Tokomaru impressed 30 guests of the Railways Department on a demonstration run from Auckland to Papakura and back this morning. The party comprised Mr G. H. Mackley, General Manager of Railways, and leading railway officials representatives ot the Auckland Chamber of Commerce, education board, harbour board and other citizens. The railcar was practically free from vibration at any speed. The departmental party left Auckland later for Frankton, where they were to inspect proposed improvements to the railway yards.
