WOMEN’S TEAM TO TOUR DOMINION
TUITION FOR SCHOOL CHILDREN j four New Zealand women champions, j under the management of Mrs E. C. Isaacs, of Dunedin, a former Dominion j cl'ving champion, have been chosen by | the Council of tne New Zealand Amateur Swimming Association to tour New Zealand during this season, the principal purpose of the iour being to teach school children to swim. Those who have been chosen are:— j Miss Mona Leydon (Auckland), New | Zealand freestyle champion and record holder and Empire Games winner. Miss Kathleen Grey (Auckland), intermediate champion and record holder. Miss Winnie Dunn (Dunedin), breaststroke champion and record holder and Empire Games swimmer . Miss Joyce Macdonald (Invercargill) | backstroke champion and record holder and Empire Games swimmer. The team will start its tour as soon as the necessary arrangements can be made, and it is proposed to continue the tour throughout the entire swimming season, terminating, probably, about the end of March. All parts of New Zealand will be visited. The principal purpose of the tour is to teach swimming to school children, and it will form an important part of the campaign which is being undertaken this summer to teach 75,000 persons to
