newspaper cartoon EDITOR ON TRIAL u P.A.—By Electric Telegraph—Copyrigbtl LONDON, 29th November. The Luxembourg correspondent of the “News Chronicle” says that, as a result of the Kuhrer’s being sent a cartoon of himself published in a newspaper in Esch (part of the Czech territory ceded to Germany), the editor of the paper, Hubert Clement, is being charged with insulting the head of a foreign State. Counsel for defence, treating the case jocularly, culled a* “first witness,” Mr Chamberlain, as currently cartooned with o 1 without umbrella. The liberty of the Press must lie respected. The case was adjourned to 6th December, when a famous foreign cartoonist will appear as a witness. J
