MR SEMPLE AND SAFETY
ITo The Editor! 1 Sir,—Many of us have been literally s moved to tears by Mr Semple’s impassioned outbursts about road safety, 1 and I think that all of us are fully t aware of the necessity of taking every _ j care to avoid accidents. Among other . ! things we are urged by the Minister of ’ j Transport (Mr Semple) to use pedesj trian crossings, but what are we to j think when we see the Minister himj self crossing one of Nelson’s busiest intersections diagonally and with his eye* fixed on the ground? He must be keen ‘| on securing running shoes to—well. ‘ ! wherever he is due to go when he | leaves this sphere!—l am. etc j PEDESTRIAN, j Nelson, 30th November.
