HOSPITAL V. TAHUNA In a game played at Stoke on Saturday Hospital defeated Tahuna on the first innings by 33 runs. This is Hospital’s first win this season in championship games. Tahuna won the toss and batted first on i a good wicket and fast outfield scoring 81 runs against the good bowling of Vercoe, Winnie and Muntz. Hospital replied with 114 runs. McMurray and Morrison opened for Hospital and took the score to 57 when Morrison wag run out. Hibbeit followed and took the score past Tahuua’s total. In Tahuna'g first innings McDonald 10, Simister not out 12 and Ellis 18 were the only bntsmen to reach double figures. Bowling for Hospital Winnie took three fo; 23, Vercoe three for 13, Muntz four ioi 30. In Hospital's first innings McMurray 32 retired, Morrison 18, Hibbert 21, Chase 11 and Henderson 9 not out were the best batsmen. Tahuna batted again and did better, scoring 72 runs for the loss of four wickets. Hobern not out 26 and N. Veysey 27 were their best scorers. At the conclusion of the game the Tahuna captain thanked Hospital for their sporting game, also for the afternoon tea.
