SUNDAY EXCURSION

PICNIC TRAIN TO MOTUPIKO ¥ On Sunday the Railway Department is running a special excursion train from Nelson to Motupiko, where, on the banks of the Motueka river, the annual staff picnic will be held. The railwayman's picnic committee has drawn up a good sports programme, with races for all, and there will be a choice of several spots along the river where excellent swimming facilities are available. Ice cream and soft drinks will be sold from stalls on the picni: ground, and free milk and free hot water will be provided. An added attraction will be the Nelson Citizens' Band which will play selections during the day.
