3 GRAVE ANXIETY FELT ; : WELLINGTON, 22nd November. London funds and the general fin- ' ancial situation in New Zealand in relation to the farming industries were discussed by the New Zealand Primary and Ancillary Industries Producers’ i Council at a meeting in Wellington yesterday. The following resolution was adopted: “While appreciating that the Prime Minister is aware of the position as I' evidenc'd by his recent statement that j production must be increased, this meeting of representatives of primary tj producers expresses its grave anxiety regarding the position which is developing in the financial and economic operations of the Dominion as indis cated by the rapidly falling sterling ' funds, the proportion of reserve to liae bilities of the Reserve Bank, the falling returns for, and the reducing quanti--0 ties of, primary products exports. * i These movements and developments. 1 | coupled with heavy increases in costs [ and general expenditure, are leading *’ to adverse balances nationally and individually, and in consequence of this a great deal of hardship must ultimately he inflicted on all sections.”
