MISSING NOSE RECOVERED
SEWN ON VICTIM SYDNEY, 6th November. E Portion of a man's nose, which he ZZ had lost in an accident in a garden at S j Kensington yesterday, was recovered by j S j police and rushed to St. Vincen’s Hos- I E pital, where it was sewn on to the pat- j E ient’s face. E In response to a telephone call police E went to a house in Doncaster avenue, E Kensington, early yesterday morning, E where they found Carl Petersen, aged ZZ 47 years, with his lips cut and part of ■j- his nose missing. S The police were told that Petersen, E who was employed at the house as a = gardener, had accidentally thrust his E head through a window. E Petersen was taken to St. Vincent's |E | Hospital. A doctor inserted three, E; stitches in the lips, and after having zz! examined the man’s nose asked the ZZ 1 police to find the portion which was = missing. S i Returning to Kensington the police ' searched the garden of the house, found i E | the missing portion of the nose, and ■ E drove back to the hospital. The doctor: E i restored it to its proper place, insert- ■ E i ing 13 stitches in the course of the oper- j E j ation. Ej Petersen was then allowed to go! uf». h ° me -
