Cases sent to Wellington and Christchurch hospitals for specialist orthoI paedie treatment were reported all to ha j making favourable progress. One new case | was recommended for operative treatment ut W'eilingon, immediately a vacancy occurred, and two cases were refej-r----e 1 to the Medical Referee Committee. 'lhe purchase of a sell propelling chair was authorised for a further case. Cost ot tianspoi t was agreed upon for one case receiving massage. It was decided to allocate a sum for Christmas presents for each case on the Society’s books. Two educational grants were made. Particulars of Spastic Paralysis cases in the district were asked lor by New Zealand headquarters with a view to investigating the advisability and necessity of establishing lor crippled children, four residential hostels at which physio-thera-peutie and educational facilities shall ba available. A vote of thanks was accorded to tha members of the “Sunshine” Club of Ta- ! buna for* banding the net proceeds of a scries of dances held at Tahuna (£1 16* j 9di to the funds of the Society. \ arious branches of the W.D.F.U. and I the Women’s Institute were also corn | mended for the very great interest they j are taking in the work of the local branch, I which is very much appreciated by the I committee.
