ATHLETIC’S UPHILL FIGHT MATCH AT STOKE

At Stoke Waimea, winning the loss in their match against Athletic, ran up a total of 215 runs. Features of the day’s play were the splendid efforts of J. Joyce 86, and McGregor 39, and K. Newth 29, which with the exception of two chances from Joyce, were sterling efforts.

Athletic went to the wickets at 5.20 p.m. and made a goor start.
