Germany is preparing rapidly for a trade drive which is being launched not only in south-east Europe, but also in England, America and elsewhere. Field-Marshal Goering and Herr Funk, Minister of Economy, are having daily conferences with commercial experts. The “Daily Telegraph’s” Berlin correspondent says that an attack on the American market will begin in a few weeks when Dr. Brinkmann, secretary of the State Ministry of Economics, goes to America with a delegation of industrial leaders to examine AngloAmerican trade. With a view to benefiting Germany the Reichsbank is evolving an international monetary compensation system, whereby economic relations in southeast Europe will be assisted.
