SUDETENS BREAK OFF NEGOTIATIONS
LORD RUNCIMAN INFORMED (Received Bth September, 12.15 p.m.) PRAGUE, 7th September. The Sudeten Germans issued the following report:— • "Firstly, the party decided to continue negotiations with the Government with a view to the realisation of the Carlsbad points; secondly, both internal discussions and negotiations were broken off because of recent incidents showing that the Government insufficiently controls the situation to begin and conclude discussions in peace.” After the report was issued negotiations were broken off, of which Lord Runciman was informed by a delegation headed by the extremist, Herr Frank.

The Sudetens suspended their >t idy of the Czech proposals as a result of incidents involving the death of a , rominent member of the Sudeten Party. DECISION TO BE RECONSIDERED (Received Bth September. 12.55 p.m.) LONDON. 7th September. Reuter's Prague correspondent says that after a conference with Dr. Hodza, Henleinists agreed to reconsider their decision to break off negotiations.
