NEW AWARD
INSURANCE WORKERo I United Press Association! WELLINGTON. 7th September. An agreement was reached in the Conciliation Council in the insurance workers’ Dominion dispute. The new award will close follow the old one. It applies to the employees earning up to £450 a year; £29 in the first six months to £340 in the I fourteenth year for males, and to £l7O in the seventh year for females. For female clerks in the life office industrial departments, the commencing salary is from £l9/10/- at under 17 years, to £l7O in the eighth year, the same as the clerical workers’ award. The wages come into effect on Ist October. The hours are thirty-seven and a half a week, from Monday to Friday.
