GOLI CLUB’S FIRST ANNUAL BALL The enthusiasm with which the dance committee of the Murchison Golf Club organised its first annual ball had the desired result of attracting gay throngs of dancers. More than 160 people accepted invitations to attend at the Oddfellows Hall which was charmingly decorated for the occasion. Golf clubs, balls and bags with balloons appropirately adorned the walls, and green trellis made a perfect background for pink climbing roses, and gold baskets filled with flowers. Ferns and streamers were suspended from the ceiling, the whole being illuminated with coloured lights which made the effect beautiful. Mr Harold Williams’s Orchestra supplied the cheery music, and during Hie evening a graceful exhibition dance was given by Mr and Mrs E. Watts. An excellent and dainty Dome made supper was served Mr S. Borkin was Master of Ceremonies, and the arrangements by a capable and energetic committee consnsting of Mesdames McGregor Lecke. West. Rogers. Misses Scott. Wallace. Borkin. and Messrs Locke. Hall. Harper, Brook. Borkin. and Marshall, made the even ing a happy and outstanding success.
