Hattersley’s opponent was J. Morrison, the British Walker Cup player.
The biggest sensation of the second round was when Briscoe, an elderly Irishman, defeated the American Walker Cup player, Ward, at the twentieth. Two Americans knocked out their teammates. Yates beat Fischer at the nineteenth and Goodman defeated Billows 4 and 2.
