MISSING BRITISH STEAMER

FATE OF CREW WIVES DEMAND INQUIRY I United Press Association-By Electric Telegraph—Copyright 1 (Received 14th May, 9 a.m.) LONDON. 13th May. The wives of the crew of the missing steamer Anglo-Australian demand a public inquiry into her fate and an aerial and marine search of the South Atlantic islands, owing to the possibility of her breaking down and drifting off the shipping lanes. A message from London on 9th May said the relatives of the crew of 38 on the London steamer Anglo-Australian have been informed that hope has been abandoned and that the vessel is presumed to have sunk in the Atlantic. She left Cardiff on Bth March for Vancouver. A message was received stating that she passed the Azores on 14th March. There has been no news since.
