NEW DECREES IN FRANCE STRICTER CONTROL OF ALIENS NATIONAL DEFENCE LOAN TO BE ISSUED [United Press Association —By Electric Telegraph-Copy right! (Received 4th May, 9 a.m.) PARIS, 3rd May. The Prime Minister, M. Daladier’s, first batch of decree laws provides for a uniform increase of 8 per cent., in direct and indirect taxes, and also for a special supertax on profits from war industries and an increase of 2d a gallon in the duty on petrol. A national defence loan will be issued later. Other decrees provide for the stricter control of aliens. The price of foreigners’ identity cards is being raised by 30 per cent.
