MADAME TABOUIS AND MR EDEN
ANALYSES OF EUROPEAN EVENTS lßy Air Mail—From Our Own Correspondent] LONDON, 10th March. A book from the pen of Madame Tabouis. diplomatic correspondent of the French Radical newspaper, “L’Oeuvre,” is enjoying considerable success in London, though not so much among those who claim to know something about foreign politics, who are inclined to regard the lady as a well-meaning alarmist. Madame Tabouis was in London for a brief visit a few days ago, anc she has had the satisfaction of noting the regularity with which her pronouncements on foreign affairs are quoted in the London newspapers. Il was Genevieve—that is her Christian name—who figured in an incident with Mr Eden when, as Foreign Secretary he was in Geneva less than a year ago. She had been reporting acute differences between Mr Eden and the Prime Minister on foreign affairs, a gooc guess, as it has turned out, but one devoid of foundation at the time, and she was reprimanded by Mr Eden for he: pains. In Whitehall these days hei analyses of European events are the basis of much good-humoured jocularity. When Mr Eden resigned, she foresaw his emergence as leader of a new Opposition party!
