"IT’S ALL YOURS"
A refomation plan that nearly fails at the eleventh hour forms the basis of Columbia's happily conceived comedy, “It's All Yours." The story is that of a young man who finds his income cut short at the death of his rich uncle, and a charming girl who is in love with him and falls heiress to two million dollars, which the young man expected to inherit. It is a satisfying film in every way, and Madeleine Carroll again demonstrates her ability to handle delicately light and frolicsome roles. She frisks through the picture in a mood the frivolousness of which is a pretence to win the affection of a man to whom she conspires to return the inheritance she has received—all in the hope that she will reciprocate her love and abandon his playboy extravagance. He, on the other hand, is not accepting his predicament without an attempt to extricate himself from it. How he attempts to curb her extravagance by becoming her private secretary is the main theme of an intensely amusing film. To give the narrative additional spice, a French count, who confesses as a matter of course that he is frankly seeking a wealthy wife, becomes enamoured of the young heiress, who plays him off against her outraged “private secretary-” Although Madeleine Carroll gives a splendid performance, it is Mischa Auer, as the Baron Rene de Montigny, who is the chief joy of the production.
