NOTED CONDUCTOR TRAVESTIED

Leopold Stokowski, famed conductor is lifted to that category enjoyed by the few that Hollywood choose to caricature, when Alan Mowbray makes a travesty of the familiar orchestra leading mannerisms of the great symphonic leader. A bit of “Hollywood backstage” in “Music for Madame,” which stars Nino Martini, Metropolitan opera tenor, gave the opportunity to John Blystone. the ! director, to enjoy a little gentle fun at 1 the expense cf both Stokowski and the motion picture capital. In a scene showing the making of a motion picture, Mowbray follows, in exaggerated style, all the peculiar mannerisms of the Philadelphia conductor.
