QUESTION REGARDING RIGHTS OF PREFERENCE SHAREHOLDERS [By Telegraph—Press Association] DUNEDIN, This Day.. The question whether preference shareholders in a company which had gone into liquidation were entitled, in addition to the repayment of their capital, to payment out of the surplus assets of arrears of fixed cumulative dividend in priority to payments to the ordinary shareholders of their capital, was I answered in the negative by Mr Justice Kennedy in the Supreme Court this morning in the matter of the liquidation of the Bristol Piano Company.
