He is Sir Reg- i inald Kennedy-Cox, who has been asked t» contest Peckham at the next General I Ejection. Sir Reginald, a close friend of I Earl Beatty, who formerly held the seat. 1 is the founder and honorary Warden of the Dockland Settlement. He lias been working in Canning Town since 1905, and, in addition to the Setlement there, ne founded branch Dockland Settlements at Bristol and Southampton among other paces. He enlisted as a private at the outbreak of War. and later held a commission in the 3rd battalion of the Hampshire Regiment, serving in Frvce, Egypt, Salonika and Russia. Sir Reginald, by the way, has written a number of plays, and has published several books, including a novel
