COLLISION IN VICTORIA

Three people were killed and 10 injured, five of them seriously, in a collision between a bus and a motor-car, near Rutherglen. on Saturday night. All the persons killed were travelling m the car. The victims were:— Constable William Cantrell, of Albury, and his wife. Noel Weatherby. of Albury, journal- | ist, whose wife was among the injured. A pathetic feature of the tragedy was that Constable Cantrell’s mother left Sydney on Saturday to stay with him and was unaware of the deaths of her son and daughtcr-in-law until her arrival at Albury. The crash occurred on a narrow culvert. The bus driver rode nine miles for assistance on a cycle carried on the roof of the bus.
