BETWEEN AMERICA AND BRITAIN (Received 10th February, 9 a.m.) WASHINGTON, 9th February. The Secretary of State, Mr Cordell Hull, sent a letter to the Senate regarding Senator H. W. Johnson’s resolution asking Mr Hull to reveal whether the United States contemplated any foreign alliances or understandings. Mr Hull stated that no alliance, agreement or understanding exists, or is contemplated with Britain. There is no understanding expressed or implied to use the United States Navy in conjunction with a:*y other nation, or that the Navy should police, patrol' or be sent to any particular waters.
