IMPUDENT THIEVES

MOTOR-CAR STRIPPED TYRES TAKEN I ROM WHEELS PETROL TANK EMPTIED [By Telegraph—Press Association] AUCKLAND, This Day. An audacious theft occurred either late on Tuesday night or early yesterday morning when thieves entered a private motor garage in St. Heliers, stripped a motor car of several fittings and spare parts, and finally drained the petrol tank The crime was discovered by the owner of the car, Mr Vivian W. Wilson. of 227 St. Heliers Bay road, St. Heliers, just before eight o clock yesterday morning. The intruders, who had easy access to the garage, as the door had been left unlocked during the night, unbolted the spare wheel from the back of the car. They then jacked up the vehicle and stripped the rear wheels of both covers and tubes, after which the petrol tank was emptied.
