LIVELY MEETING

MR J. HARGEST AT SOUTH DUNEDIN I By Telegraph—Press Association! DUNEDIN, 9th February. Prolonged interruptions and constant booing and hooting were encountered by Mr J. Hargest, M.P., when he spoke at the South Dunedin Town Hall tonight. Only at rare intervals was Mr Hargest allowed to proceed with anything like an uninterrupted hearing as a large section of the crowd which filled the hall loudly challenged almost every statement he made and at times made it absolutely impossible for him to be heard, even by those nearest the platform. An appeal for order by the chairman only increased the uproar.
