PILOT DEAD IN OFFICE
AEROPLANE HAD KILLED BOY PENANG. Ist January. An aeroplane accident, in which a Chinese boy was killed and five other persons were injured yesterday, had a sequel to-day when the pilot. Mr Eric Newbold. was found dead in an office at the works of the Eastern Smelting Company, of which he was general manager. Mr Newbold was also a member of the Legislative Council. Thousands of Chinese, who were celebrating the New Year holiday yesterday. saw Mr New bold's plane CWh on a car and fall into the sea after ft had struck and killed the boy and injured five others Mr Newbold was rescued by sailors
from the survey ship Stork He did not appear to be injured.
