GUILTY OF ASSAULT

Leslie Charles Smith, aged 18 years gardener, pleaded guilty to''assault 01 a young woman in private grounds ii Wellington with intent to commit an indecent assault. He was employed at ai institution, and when the girl was pro ceeding down the drive to the mail gates he attracted her to a side patl with a dummy letter and threw a blan ket over her head. He tried to drag hei off, but'she got free and ran back t( the institution.
