FINAL PLUNKET SHIELD MATCH
WELLINGTON AND AUCKLAND TEAMS [By Telegraph—Press Association] WELLINGTON. This Day. As D. A. R. Moloney (Marlborough) and N. Gallichan (Manawatu), two members of the New Zealand cricket team which toured England and Australia last year, are available again, the strongest team Wellington has fielded this season will oppose Auckland in the final PJunket Shield match of the season, which begins at Wellington on 18th February Six New Zealand representatives of last year are included. Moloney, who transferred to Blenheim shortly after his return to New Zealand, was not able to play against Canterbury or Otago, and Gallichm could not travel to Dunedin for the match with Otago. Moioney was the outstanding all-rounder in the New Zealand team in England, and Gallichan. is an able slow left-hand bowler. Twelve Wellington players have be.?n chosen by the sole selector, M,r A. v T Duncan. The twelfth man will be decided on the morning of the match. The players arc:—D. A. R. Moloney, JE. \V. 1 indill. H F. Rice M. P. Donnelly. J. Ell. W. G. Bain. J. D. Lamason, N. Gallichan, T. Pritchard. C. K. Parsloe, E. D. Blundell M. Browne. The Auckland team is not the strongest the province could field, but it is notable because it includes no fev/er than four fast-medium bowlers. The players are:— A. J. Pestles (captain), J. E. Mills. W. N. Carson N. McMahon, P. E. Whitelaw, W. M. Wallace, A. M. Mathieson, J. Cowie, V. Scott D. B. Edmonds, J. B Simpson, S. Sale, twelfth man.
