RECRUITS are required for the SPECIAL RESERVE OF THE TERRITORIAL FORCE, to undergo training at Auckland, Wellington, and j Christchurch, for three months from Ist February. 1938 Conditions. —Applicants lor enlistment fulfil the following conditions: — Be British subjects; physically fit and of required medical standard; not less than sft 7m in height; have reached their 18th but not passed their 25th birthday on Ist February, 1938 Bo prepared to undergo *5 months’ continuous training and to undertake for three years thereafter to attend a course of training of ten consecutive days per annum with the unit to which they will be posted. Rates of Pay.—The rates of pay wil. be as follows(a) During the 3 months’ course—B/per day less 2/6 per day for quarters and rations supplied (b) During annual courses of instruction—9/- per day (rations and quarters free) .. Vocational Training. —While attend ins the three months course of instruction facilities are provided, free of charge, for attendance at a technical college for a course to be selected by the trainee. Courses available include Building trades. Cabinet-making, Engineering. Metal-work. Drawing, Commercial work Subsequent Employment. —On completion of the three months’ course of instruction, a selected number of special reservists will be considered for enlistment into the Regular Forces.
