The infuriated Republicans determine to avenge their leader, and force Maureen Elliott to lure Captain Wiltshire to her home, when they will proceed to torture him. The Constabulary are soon hot on the scent, however, and in a stirring climax the Republicans are rounded up. Hannay insisting that it is he who O’Dea, and not Wiltshire, when he realises that it is Wiltshire whom Maureen loves. "Ourselves Alone” is a drama ol Ireland in rebellion, abounding in thrills and teeming with action, when love of country makes men do unbelievably terrible and surpassingly beautiful things.
