CHRISTMAS RECESS
HOUSE OF COMMONS [Hritish OBicial Wireless] (Receiving 17th December, 11.10 a.m.) RUGBY, 16th December. Referring to a motion for the adjournment of the House of Commons for the Christmas recess, to be moved on Thursday, the Prime Minister, Mr Neville Chamberlain, stated that it would contain the usual provision to empower the Speaker to call the House together at an earlier date than Ist February if such a course was considered necessary in the public interest.
