AWFUL BAD”
Boys and girls attending a Nottingham school were puzzled how to say what were the irregular comparisons of "good” and "bad.” Here arc some of the answers: Good—goodness—good for nothing. Thin —medium—stout. Bad—worst—awful bad.
"So you've been to college, eh?” "Yes.” "How high can you count?” "One, two. three, four, five, six, seven, eight, nine. ten. jack, queen, king."
"You told that man it was live minutes tc tiie station, and it is a good 20 minutes.” "Yes. but he was nice and polite and he seemed so tired.”
