GERMAN CARS
t. 50 AND FREE OF TAX BERLIN, 25th November. A motor-ear for £SO, purchasable for a deposit of £lO and instalments of 5s a week—this is Germany’s answer to the demand for a "people's car.” A model of the ear has been approved by Herr Hitler. It will scat four persons. The body is made from a secret synthetic material, which is claimed to be as strong as steel and unrustablc. The car consumes synthetic fuel, made from coal, at the rate of BO miles to the gallon. The tyres are made from synthetic rubber. Trial models of the ear were tested on the roads for 18 months. Then plans were made for the mass prdouction of cars in factories which will engage four million employees. In addition to being cheap, the cars will be free of all taxation.
