SCEPTICAL OF FASCISTS

ENGLISH LABOUR LEADER “LEADING US UP THE PATH” LONDON, 23rd November. “Mussolini is still leading us up the garden path. No word he says can be believed,” said Mr Herbert Morrison, in a speech. Mr Morrison is the Labour chairman of the London County Council, and a leading member of the party in the House of Commons. “Mussolini will cheat Mr Chamberlain yet,” he added. “I think that Mr Chamberlain subconsciously sympathises with Fascist governments in other parts of the world. This Government is trying to become increasingly friendly with Fascists.

“Mussolini got away with Abyssinia ana to-day he is a greater danger to the British commonwealth of nations than ever before. He is still stirring up trouble for Britain in the East. Today we arc nearer war than we were in 1931.

“Insurance companies have refused to insure the new Waterloo Bridge against war risks, the position is so insecure.”
