FATAL CRASH AT CROYDON
PLANE HITS HANGAR DURING FOG (Uuited Press Association—B.v Electrlo Telegraph— Cop.v rich tl LONDON, 27th November. Three of the crew were killed when a German freight plane hit a hangar when taking off from Croydon in a thick fog. The plane burst into flames and the hangar was set on fire, the fire brigade being summoned. Mechanics working on two passenger planes housed in the hangar raced for their lives as flaming petrol flung out of the burst tanks set everything ablaze. It is believed they all escaped. Officials slated that the visibility was less than 10 yards. Suddenly there was a terrific crash and the whole aerodrome was lit up by the flames, despite the fog.
