DIONNE QUINTUPLETS
COST OF UPKEEP ESTATE OF 500,000 DOLLARS [United Press Association— By Electrio Telegraph—Copyright] NEW YORK, 13th November. Dr. Dafoe, in an interview, said that the Dionne quintuplets’ estate at present was half a million dollars. Their expenses average more than 400 dollars a week, including the salaries of a teacher, two nurses, three guards, one housekeeper and two maids. Dr. Dafoe receives 200 dollars a month and the parents 100, The doctor said that two or three years hence, when the quintuplets were ready for school, it would probably be necessary to build a private schoolhouse and import selected pupils from the village to provide social contact. They are now studying English, in addition to French. Dr. Dafoe described Yvonne as tho sophisticated lady of the world type, Emile as gamin, Marie as affectionate and clinging, and Cecile and Annette as easy-going. The parents and six brothers and sisters will spend Christmas with the quintuplets.
