This is a story they tell of Mary Pickford. When she was married to Douglas Fairbanks they always sal side beside—at home and abroad—and they always danced together. “And,” says Mary, “I refused to break this rule, even when King George VI. invited me to be his partner. That was in 1921, when Doug, and I were dining with Prince Albert, as he then was. He asked me to dance. “Prince Albert,” I said, "I’m sorry. When the Los Angeles newspapers reported the wedding they put the screen star first, and the lady was furious. “Just wait until the New York papers come out,” said she. “They’ll correct it.” y y y .v. The film rivalry of Jeanette MacDonald and Grace Moore has not affected their personal friendship, in spite of unkind rumours to the contrary. At a recent party the two songsters spent most of the evening chatting with each other, in the gayest of spirits. THE “NOSE” HAVE IT Ever sc many screen stars have nose trouble. Nothing to do with the cold-in-the-head, but simply that noses may look grand in private life, but when exposed to the public gaze by the camera they are found to be too aquiline or not aquiline enough. That's why Claudette Colbert is usualy seen with the left side of her face towards the audience, and Irene Dunne with the right side similarly displayed.
