Thomas, was warmly welcomed at his first public speech since he resigned from Cabinet. He spoke to the Cardiff Business Men’s Club on the political and economic situation. One of Cardiff’s largest halls

was filled, and hundreds were turned away. He expressed the opinion that a boycott of Japan would mean war. The “Daily Mail’s” Cardiff correspondent says that though Mr Thomas refused to discuss the future it is clear that he hopes to return to political life. He said he has been invited to address meetings in various parts of the country.
