MAGISTRATE’S COURT

In the Magistrate’s Court to-day before Mr T. E. Maunsell S.M., judgment for plaintiff by default was given in the following civil cases: Thomas Walker v. Catherine Stewart, £2O, costs £3 10s; E. H. Troup v. C. Bunker, £l3 7s 6d, costs £2 16s; Buxton’s Ltd. v. J. H. Newport, £l2 12s 3d, costs £1 16s. In a judgment summons, E. Croucher v. R .Bothwell, judgment debtor was ordered to pay the amount of the judgment unsatisfied, £4 19s 6d, at the rate of £1 per week. Prosecutions were brought by the Inspector of Factories, Mr W. J. Berryman for failing to keep proper timebooks, against Arthur McCaa, and B. F. Spiers Transport Co. Ltd. Judgment was given plaintiff in the sum of £4 10s in the former case and £1 10s in the latter.
