TAX CONCESSIONS
SOUTH AUSTRALIAN BUDGET EXTRA WORK FOR UNEMPLOYED SURPLUS NEXT YEAR ANTICIPATED i United Press Asst elation —By Electric Telegraph—Copy riglitl (Received 9th September, 10.40 a.m.) ADELAIDE, This Day. The Premier, Mr R. L. Butler, submitting the Budget to Parliament, announced taxation concessions l’or the general public totalling £285,000, and increased wages and salaries, restored pensions, and extra work and increased rations for unemployed amounting to £539,000. Despite this and a cut in the disabilities grant he estimates that he will finish the year ending 30th June next with a surplus of £3984.
The concessions include a reduction of from !,d to 1 in the pound on all taxable income from personal exertion. All basic wage earners with one child will be exempt from taxation.
