Damages amounting to £2622 were awarded to-day to Mrs Isabella Burnett against the Union Steam Ship Company of New Zealand Ltd., arising from the death of Mrs Burnett’s husband allegedly following an injury received while painting the hull of the Aorangi in 1932. Mr Justice Bavin granted a stay in proceedings pending consideration of an appeal to the Privy Council on the interpretation of section 63 of the Workers’ Compensation Act.
