GERMAN HIMALAYAN EXPEDITION LEADER NOW REPORTED TO HAVE PERISHED [United Press Association— By Electrio Telegraph—Copyright] SIMLA, 22nd June. Dr. Karl Wien (leader) who was at first reported to have escaped, perished with the German Nangaparbat expedition, which was’ overwhelmed by an avalanche. The sole survivor is Dr. Ulrich Luft, of Munich, who telegraphed from Gilgit that he was safe and well and not Involved in the disaster. Details of the disaster are still awaited from Major Kirkbridge, British Political Agent at Gilgit, who went to the spot after telegraphing the first news.
