MOTOR ACCIDENT AT TAKAKA

CAR SKIDS IN GRAVEL AND HITS TREE TWO OCCUPANTS INJURED [By Telegraph—Press Association] TAKAKA, This Day. At about 10.30 o’clock yesterday morning a car driven by Mr Fredrick Hope, of Upper Takaka, skidded in some loose gravel and crashed into a blue gum tree while Mr Hope was endeavouring to pass a car driven by Mr Charles Rogers, also of Upper Takaka. Mr Hope’s car was occupied by the driver, his son, and Mr and Mrs Edgar Hope of D’Urville Island. Mrs Hope sustained a broken right arm, cuts and abrasions, while Mr Edgar Hope received a head wound. Dr. Bydder, of Takaka, attended to the patients.
