THE WEATHER

MILDER CONDITIONS PREDICTED

The weather is forecast to be fair to fine and becoming gradually milder, but cold nights with sharp frosts may be expected. Sunny days and cold nights characterised the week-end, and the rain which seemed to theraten when a few drops fell last night did not eventuate. The sun shone for 8 hours 10 minutes on Saturday and 8 hours 5 minutes on Sunday, there being 3£ degrees of frost on Saturday night and 2 degrees last night. To-day was again bright and sunny and the barometer was still high but dark clouds hung over the hills.

Pressure was high over the Dominion to-day and the weather was generally fine.
