PUBLIC NOTICE is hereby given that the Nelson City Council proposes to raise a Special Loan of Seven tnousand two hundred and litiy pounds (L/,250) for the following purpose:— To purchase Lots 1,3, 4,5, G, h, IU, 11, and 12 of Selcions 234, 1144, 1145, 1138 and 238, City of Nelson, as a site for Municipal Buildings. As security for the repayment of the loan and payment of interest thereon, it is proposed to make and levy an annually recurring Special' Kate of ninesixteenths of a penny in the pound on the rateable value (being the annual value) of all rateable property within the City of Nelson.

The proposed loan, together with interest thereon at the rate of three pounds ten shillings per centum per annum, will be repaid by equal aggregate annual or half-yearly instalments over the period of thirty-five years, such annual or half-yearly instalments being met out of the proceeds of the aforesaid Special Rate.

NELSON CITY COUNCIL SJUBLIC NOTICE is hereby given that * the Nelson City Council proposer to raise a Special Loan of Eighty-eight thousand pounds 0-38,UUU; lor the pur poses of: ti) Making provision for an additional water supply from the Roding River for the inhabitants ol the City of Nelson and at the same time providing for a supply of water from the main-pipeline to the Tahunanui Town District, the Richmond Borough and the Stoke Riding of the Waitnca County, such provision to include the necessary land purchases, construction ol headworks, tunnel and main- pipeline and oilier necessary works and things in connection therewith. (1!) Improving and extending the water reticulation system within the City of Nelson. The sum proposed to be borrowed is made up as follows: 1. Land purchases, headworks, tunnel, main-pipeline and other incidentals 95,000 Less amount of Government grant 35,000 2. Improvements and extensions to Clly reticulation 28,000 Total L 83.000 As security for repayment of the loan and payment of interest thereon, it is proposed to make and levy an annually recurring Special Rate of 6jd in the pound on the rateable value (being the Annual Value) of all rateable property within the City of Nelson. The term of the proposed loan is thirty-five years and provision for repayment is to be made by the establishment of a Sinking Fund, calculated on the amount to be raised, ot not less than one pound ten shillings (LI 10s) per centum per annum. It is not proposed to pay out o£ the said loan the interest and sinking fund for the first year, but it is proposed to pay out cf such loan the cost of raising the same.
