SOUTH CANTERBURY JOCKEY CLUB SURPRISE IN TIMARU CUP SOUTHDOWN'S HURDLES TIMARU. 24th April. The April meeting of the South Canterbury Jockey Club was held on the Washdyke course to-day under weather conditions entirely favourable. The track was in first-class condition and the attendance large. Results:—

The totalisator handled £16,494, compared with £9515 last autumn. OI'AUTAU POSTPONED INVERCARGILL, 24th April. The Otautau Racing Club’s Meeting was postponed again to-day owing to heavy rain overnight and boisterous conditions this morning. The committee has decided to hold the fixture on Monday, which is a local holiday for the retail shops.
